Winter is a good time to trim trees!

Just thought I would let you all know that wintertime is a great time to trim trees. Cool weather slows sucker growth at pruning sites, it also allows for less insect infestation due to dormancy of the tree. With the insect population being dormant the fresh cuts have a chance to dry out and be less attractive to insects when the trees come out of dormancy.
You can also better see the structure of the tree when the leaves were off.
A few trees that should only be trimmed in the winter are Birch, Oak, Fruit trees including flowering crab trees.
If you need more information be sure to contact us at 734-241-7510 or check our website at floralcitytreeandlandscape.com

Thanks!!
